The Batterer's Intervention program is specifically designed to meet the needs of those who have been evaluated as batters, have been arrested more than once, or who have not been granted diversion by the courts. Many of those who attend fit the characteristics of the classical domestic violence offender which suggests that there are deeper issues that need to be addressed.
This program requires 24 sessions. The group for men meets on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday at 9:00 to 10:30 and 11:00 to 12:30 am. The women's group meets on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Groups at our South Church are currently being formed. Call for more information.
This group requires a Domestic Violence Evaluation which costs $100.00.
The fee for each Group Therapy Session is $20 and is paid prior to each of the 24 sessions.
Additional sessions may be required for unapproved absences. If you miss too many groups you might be required reinstate for a $30 fee or start the program over.
Because of the deeper issues involved in repeat battering or classical domestic violence this is a difficult issue to resolve completely in 24 sessions. However, many of our clients have successfully turned their live around through this program. Success will be determined by how much effort your are willing to put into the program and what changes in your life you are willing to make.
